Botanical description of chanterelles
Chanterelles are called Cantharellus in Latin and represent a section of Basidiomycetes, a class of Agaricomycetes of the Chanterelle family. They look quite specific and therefore it is difficult to confuse this variety with any other. The only exception is false chanterelles.
The chanterelles visually resemble the caps of pedunculated mushrooms, however, both of their parts are, as it were, fused together. The body of the mushrooms is bright, usually colored yellow-orange or brown-orange. The head of a medium-sized mushroom is about 8 centimeters in diameter, although specimens with a diameter of almost 14 centimeters come across. The top resembles a funnel, they say that it is a "concave umbrella".
The mushroom pulp is quite dense, fleshy, there are hard fibers at the base of the leg. The chanterelles taste slightly sour, and have a subtle smell of dried fruit. If you press down on their surface, the pressure point becomes reddish.
The hymenophore has a folded, pseudoplastic surface in the form of waves falling along its stem. Spore powder in representatives of the chanterelle family is yellow, finely dispersed.
Chanterelles can be found in the forest from early summer to mid-autumn. Most often, mushrooms grow in damp, damp areas, in tall grass, among moss, or under a pile of fallen leaves. Basically, they grow in large groups. A particular growth spurt in chanterelles (and many other mushroom varieties) is observed after rains.
Botany knows about 60 varieties of chanterelles, and most of them are suitable for consumption. Representatives of the genus omphalot, visually similar to chanterelles, are considered poisonous twins of chanterelles.
For phytotherapeutic purposes, the most commonly used chanterelle, also known as Cantharellus cibarius, cockerel or true chanterelle. Less commonly used chanterelle gray, cinnabar red, velvety, faceted, and also yellowing chanterelle.
2 mushroom varieties are considered to be false chanterelles:
- Orange talker
- Omphalot olive
The first species is not edible, and the second is poisonous. The middle of the cap of a non-edible chanterelle is, as a rule, slightly darker colored than the edges, while the real representative of the chanterelle family is monochromatic. In false mushrooms, the edges are usually even, and in real chanterelles, they are torn. The leg of the false chanterelle is thin, while that of the real one is thick and dense. Poisonous mushrooms can be wormy, but worms are never found in real chanterelles. Non-edible mushrooms grow mainly one at a time, but edible mushrooms grow in groups.
Calorie content and nutritional value
Mushrooms are medium-calorie foods. At the same time, those people who have every calorie count should also take into account how the product is prepared in order to understand whether it should be included in the diet menu or not.
For example, 100 grams of fried chanterelles contains about 70 kcal, stewed about 40, and boiled about 30.
In pickled and salted mushrooms, there are very few kilocalories - about 20 per 100 grams.
These gifts of the forest are distinguished by a successful combination of fiber, healthy for the human body, and a low content of fats and carbohydrates.
Chemical composition
Before you start using chanterelle mushrooms for therapeutic purposes, the medicinal properties and contraindications of which are well known today, it is worth considering the chemical composition of these "forest gifts".
The above mushroom variety is rich in vitamin A, vitamins PP and B1, as well as D2 or ergocalciferol. They are rich in zinc, copper and some other trace elements. Thanks to a substance called chinomannose, chanterelles never have worms. This component is considered a poison for all parasites and arthropods.
These mushrooms are high in ergosterol and some natural antibiotic prototypes. This product is low in calories, in a 100 gram portion of raw mushrooms there are only 19 Kcal.
Other diseases

This phytotherapeutic drug is used to improve the general condition of people with cirrhosis of the liver, as well as those with cancer of this organ.

How to treat chanterelle mushrooms - a universal remedy for combating diseases
Chanterelle mushroom contains just a storehouse of useful vitamins and amino acids that have healing properties. Chanterelle pulp is saturated with B vitamins, beta-carotenes. The high content of this vitamin (surpasses even carrots in carotene content) and gives such a rich bright yellow color to the chanterelle itself.
In addition, the chanterelle mushroom contains trace elements of copper and zinc, a group of vitamins D, A, PP, B. Due to this composition, the chanterelle mushroom is widely used for medicinal purposes, it is one of the best means for the treatment and prevention of eye diseases and is widely used in ophthalmology, fights with dry eyes, has a beneficial effect on the mucous membranes of the eyes, improves vision, improves the condition of the hair and scalp, increases the body's resistance to infectious diseases.

We can say that the chanterelle mushroom is a universal remedy for combating diseases.
But the chanterelle mushroom is most valuable for the polysaccharides it contains - chittinmanose, ergosterol and trametholinic acid:
- chittinmanose is a polysaccharide that naturally affects various parasites. This is the explanation for the purity of the mushroom. When exposed to parasites, chitin manose affects them, but by blocking the nerve centers, thereby not affecting human organs in any way. Therefore, chanterelles are widely used in folk medicine in the treatment of helminthiasis in humans.
- ergosterol has a mild and beneficial effect on liver enzymes. It is used in the treatment of diseases such as hepatitis, fatty degeneration of the liver, hepatic hymangiomas.
- trametolinic acid is capable of destroying hepatitis C viruses.
Another excellent quality of chanterelles is their ability to counteract the development of Koch's bacillus - which provokes the development of tuberculosis. The natural antibiotic properties of chanterelles have already been proven and are widely used in various medicinal products.
Here is such an unusual and useful chanterelle mushroom. Let's now take a closer look at the most common forms and methods of using this mushroom for medicinal purposes.
Chanterelle vodka tincture
There are various recipes for infusions based on fresh, dry, or even frozen mushrooms. As a rule, they are based on vodka. You will need high-quality alcohol, diluted to a strength of 37 degrees.
From fresh chanterelles
Fresh mushrooms, just brought from the forest or bought on the market, can be stored for no more than 1 day, provided that they are in a not too hot room..
To prepare the tincture, the mushrooms are sorted out, damaged, rotten and others are removed, then the product is cleaned of forest debris and earth, washed thoroughly under running water and then cut into small pieces. After that, the raw material is placed in a glass container and compacted a little. Last of all, vodka is poured into a bottle or other container, everything is closed with a lid and sent to the cold to infuse for 3 weeks. It is advisable to periodically shake the contents of the bottle without opening it. For 0.4 kilograms of mushrooms, 800-1000 grams of alcoholic liquid will be needed.
Tincture preparation video:
The finished tincture is characterized by a bright, rich yellow color, after mixing it becomes cloudy. Unlike many other alcoholic liquids, this one is not filtered, it is used mainly on an empty stomach.
From frozen chanterelles
Chanterelles can be poured with vodka after defrosting. Making a tincture from such raw materials is no different from infusing fresh mushrooms on vodka. True, boiled frozen mushrooms are not suitable for medicinal purposes.
Dried mushrooms
You can, as an option, prepare a tincture of dried chanterelles. To do this, the mushrooms are sorted out, cleaned of debris and finely cut, then laid out on a sheet for drying. You can cook them in the air or in an oven preheated to 50 degrees. The dried substance should be ground into a powder with a meat grinder or coffee grinder, which can be stored for up to 1 year.
To prepare the tincture, 4 tablespoons of powder are taken and poured with 1 liter of vodka, everything is shaken and infused in a dark, cool place for half a month. As with the preparation of fresh mushroom tincture, filtration is not necessary in this case.
You can buy dried chanterelle mushroom, find out more information and consult about the application on the manufacturer's website: Phyto-Doctor pharmacy or by calling for free by phone: 8-800-511-84-02 |
How to collect, store, dry
It should be remembered that all the healing properties are manifested only in properly selected and dried raw materials. Connoisseurs of alternative medicine recommend harvesting it in the following way:
- dry freshly picked mushrooms in a special dryer or in an oven at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees;
- grind dry raw materials in a coffee grinder, pour into a glass container with a tight lid;
- store in a dark place for no longer than 1 year.
Although it is believed that these fungi do not accumulate harmful substances, they should be collected away from large highways and not in an industrial area. If you dry purchased mushrooms, you need to buy them in the area where they grow in large quantities in their natural environment. Frozen semi-finished products sold in supermarkets are not suitable for treatment; they can only be used for cooking.

Official medicine does not favor "mushroom" medicines. Most of them are dietary supplements, and doctors prefer to prescribe potent toxic drugs. There are 3 tools worth paying attention to:
- Vermostoping cream. The main ingredients are chanterelles, chanterelles and medicinal herbs. Has a pronounced anthelmintic properties.
- Blastaps - composed of chanterelles, tinder fungi and lichens. It is used as an antineoplastic and antiparasitic drug.

All drugs are used according to the instructions and after consulting a doctor.
What worms helps
Those microorganisms that parasitize at the expense of the organisms of other creatures, humans and animals, are called parasites. It is worth sounding the alarm when you encounter:
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Weakness and general malaise;
- Emaciation;
- Headache and dizziness;
- Allergic skin rashes;
- Pain in the abdominal region;
- Decreased appetite;
- Dyspepsia or constipation.
All these symptoms are inherent in parasite infestation.
Chanterelles are effective only when affected by intestinal parasites:
- Helminths;
- Ascaris;
- Trematodes;
- pinworms;
- Intestinal acne;
- Hookworms;
- Giardia;
- Wide ribbon;
- Pork and bovine tapeworms;
- Vlasoglav and others.
It is the traditional medicine, to which our ancestors have been turning from time immemorial, that will help to quickly and safely get rid of helminthic invasion.
Chanterelle mushrooms from worms are one of the most common and effective methods, proven by many years of experience of our ancestors.
What is important to remember
Fans of "quiet hunting" should not pick mushrooms near highways and railways. It is generally accepted that chanterelles do not accumulate harmful substances, but this has not been clinically confirmed in any way.
There are several types of chanterelle mushrooms in our forests. "Cockerel" knows "both old and young", but there is a little edible and tasteless false fox. This mushroom will not lead to serious poisoning, but it may well cause an upset stomach. The bright yellow beauty can be confused with a completely inedible orange talker and with a poisonous olive omphalitis.
