Baby rash: allergies, infection or insect bites? 10 most common reasons

Prevention: insect bite remedies

Bites of representatives of the entomofauna differ from each other in the level of their danger, symptoms and signs, principles of first aid. How to determine who bitten in an apartment or on the street, from a photo?
Those spiders that can be found at home, as a rule, do not pose a danger to a child and an adult. Their bite looks like a small area of swelling with a dot in the center and redness around it (similar to a red bump or wound). The body of some people may respond with individual hypersensitivity, which is manifested by an allergic reaction. This is a more serious condition, accompanied by edema, significant hyperemia.

A button spider is considered poisonous to humans (the second name is a black widow). Within a quarter of an hour, the following may appear:

  • strong pain;
  • swelling;
  • difficulty breathing;
  • nausea and vomiting;
  • abdominal pain;
  • excessive sweating;
  • convulsions;
  • fever.

Bed bugs are the most common type of "home" tenants who leave their "marks" on the human body at night. Immediately after a bed bug bite, a trace does not remain. In the morning, red dots appear on the skin, accompanied by itching. The bite of these insects can be seen in the photo. Pain at the site of the bug bite and swelling are absent or mild.

It became known that bed bugs are capable of becoming carriers of the pathogens of Chagas disease. This disease is accompanied by:

  • fever;
  • enlarged lymph nodes;
  • pain and swelling at the site of the bug bite.

After being bitten by a parasite, symptoms of the disease can appear for several decades.

Insect bites are painful enough because they do not produce pain relievers like other types of parasites. Flea bites usually appear in the lower extremities. They are accompanied by severe itching that cannot be relieved.

After a flea bite, small areas of redness and swelling develop, which turn into extensive hemorrhages on the skin if scratched. A flea can be recognized by its jumping ability. It is not so easy to "catch up" this kind of insects. The photo shows massive flea bites.

This type of insect is well known to lovers of outdoor recreation. Ticks not only cause a lot of inconvenience, but can also be carriers of pathogens of serious diseases. The parasite bites a person, remaining at the scene of the "crime". This facilitates differential diagnosis. There is no pain during a tick bite, as they release a special anesthetic.

You can find an insect on the skin in areas where there are soft tissues. We are talking about the groin area, armpit area, neck, abdomen, area behind the ears. Puffiness, red spots may appear around the body of the tick, which sticks out of the tissues of the human body.

Bees and wasps

Insect bites from these species are considered dangerous for a child and an adult, especially if there is a serious allergic reaction. Wasp and bee stings can be accompanied by severe pain, swelling, itching, and burning. A red spot appears on the skin, a blister, a rash may appear.

A dangerous condition for a patient is an allergic reaction of a local or general type. In the photo you can see the symptoms of a bee sting allergy. Signs of a wasp bite are similar.

This type of parasite is located on the skin, where there is thick hair, or in the seams of linen, clothes, bed. Bite symptoms are similar to bed bug bites. The disease that lice can cause is called head lice. It occurs in the form of a group flash, more often appears in children's groups.

The child begins to itch, complain of pain and discomfort in the scalp. On examination, you can see scratching, inflammation, red small spots, located in groups. Nits are visible on the hair. These are lice eggs with a rounded shape and a white-yellow tint.

Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes can also cause disease through their ability to serve as a carrier of the pathogen. If there is no insect bite allergy, a person may notice only slight redness in one or more areas of the skin of the body. Later, these mosquito bites cause severe itching.

In some cases, a child or adult has an allergic reaction to mosquito bites. In this case, the itching becomes excruciating, the edema spreads to large areas of the body. Local symptoms may be accompanied by general signs of allergies (difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue, eyelids), convulsions. Immediate help is needed.

Insect bites are usually accompanied by characteristic signs:

  • pain in the area of the bite;
  • swelling;
  • hyperemia;
  • itching;
  • tumor.

The pain is typical for the bites of those insects that are considered dangerous to the human body. Their list includes wasps and bees (due to the high likelihood of developing an allergic reaction), some spiders. Itching can be caused by mosquitoes, lice, fleas and bed bugs. The skin begins to itch so much that this condition interferes with even a night's rest.

Puffiness appears after the bites of all insects to one degree or another. Against the background of allergies, it manifests itself more pronounced, in the absence of hypersensitivity of the body, it is weaker. Redness in the bite area is a common human reaction to a pathological process. It can appear in all cases, the difference is only in the severity of the symptom.

An insect bite requires first aid. As a rule, this applies to dangerous representatives of arthropods or the presence of allergies in the victim.

Regardless of what type of parasite is bitten, the following activities (PMP) must be carried out:

  1. First of all, it is necessary to distinguish wounds and abrasions from insect bites, if possible, determine which parasite is guilty.
  2. Smear the wound with disinfectant. This will prevent the development of infection and suppuration.
  3. If there is a sting after a bite, it must be carefully removed with tweezers.
  4. To remove swelling, you should apply cold to the body for a quarter of an hour.
  5. The area where there is hyperemia, pain, itching should be treated with an antihistamine (antiallergic) drug - Fenistil gel.
  6. An antihistamine must also be taken in tablets (Tavegil, Suprastin, Diazolin).
  7. Drink plenty of fluids.
  8. The appearance of allergy symptoms after stings of bees, wasps, fleas, spiders and other insects requires an immediate call to the medical team.

Individual recommendations depending on the type of arthropod:

  • Wounds from a bee sting should be anointed with peroxide, alcohol or a solution of potassium permanganate.
  • With a flea bite, it is important to get rid of severe itching, otherwise you can comb the body until it bleeds - in order to relieve the symptom, it is necessary to smear the wounds of the child and adult with soapy water or a disinfectant, then apply hormonal ointment with hydrocortisone or a drug with an antihistamine effect (Psilo-balm).
  • Sulfuric ointment will help to eliminate inflammation and dry the pathological area, and Advantan ointment is also good against the inflammatory process.
  • The appearance of symptoms of intoxication with an insect bite requires the intake of enterosorbents (Smecta, Enterosgel).
  • The body after bug bites must be treated with a solution based on soap or soda, propolis tincture (will help remove itching).
  • Mosquito bites require the treatment of the skin with a diluted solution of ammonia.

After the victim has received the necessary assistance at home, it is advisable to bring the patient for a consultation with a doctor. Insect bites can be fraught with dangerous consequences and diseases, therefore, at the slightest suspicion of a worsening of the condition, it is worth contacting a healthcare facility.

To treat the pathology, doctors will prescribe hormonal agents (creams and ointments). These drugs will remove not only the inflammatory process, but also pain, itching, burning, swelling and other signs of an allergic reaction.

It is also necessary to use antihistamines:

  • local action - Fenistil, Elokom, Advantan;
  • tablets - Tavegil, Loratadin, Suprastin.

Most of the victims are interested in what to do if redness and swelling appear after an insect bite. This is usually how an inflammatory reaction and an allergic reaction appear. If the brightness of the signs progresses, you need to get qualified help.

Severe swelling and hyperemia after a bite require an appointment:

  • drugs to combat an allergic reaction - antihistamine tablets, ointments and creams;
  • hormonal agents;
  • ointments based on antibacterial components.

At the moment, people prefer to use not only traditional therapy, but also traditional medicine recipes.

Folk remedies

One popular solution is a baking soda-based solution. For cooking, use the following proportions: 1 tsp. substance requires a glass of liquid. In the resulting solution, a bandage is moistened and applied to the affected area (it is allowed even under conditions if the insect remains unknown).

Children react to bites in different ways, which also depends on the individual reaction of the body. The wound may swell, there is edema, hyperemia. If nothing else bothers you, help the baby at home.

Molluscum contagiosum

What it looks like. First, a single pink pimple nodule forms on the body. Then the rash grows - on the face, neck and arms. The number of bubbles depends on the state of the child's immunity. The rash does not itch or hurt. If you suppress the nodule with tweezers, a grainy, white mass will come out of it.

What to do. The doctor cauterizes the site of removal of nodules with iodine solution. Pain relievers are sometimes used. In some cases, the nodules disappear on their own.

Insect bite symptoms

  • Large area of itchy skin. Even after a single mosquito bite, a large itchy surface appears on the child's body. Itching appears due to the coagulant in the mosquito's saliva, which is released during the bite.

Immediately after the sting, a swelling appears around, similar to a bee sting, accompanied by severe itching. In order not to be confused with other diseases, review the list of symptoms typical for mosquito bites:

  • large diameter of swelling, does not go away in a day;
  • redness, blistering;
  • severe itching;
  • high temperature;
  • runny nose, tears;
  • in acute forms, there is a general lethargy of the child, dizziness, fever, loss of appetite. Cough, shortness of breath, Quincke's edema are not excluded.

Important! If you notice these symptoms in your child, see a doctor immediately.

Symptoms are different for different causes of the rash, but often the reaction is accompanied by:

  • an increase in body temperature;
  • increased thirst;
  • itching of the skin;
  • general malaise;
  • burning sensation;
  • nausea;
  • vomiting;
  • sore throat;
  • dizziness.

Often, mosquito-bite acne does not cause any of the above symptoms.

  • Edema in the form of a red, painful swelling reaches 10 cm.A huge blister may appear in its place. This inflammation takes a long time.
  • Hives. A large area of the body becomes covered with red blisters, which cause severe itching.
  • Runny nose, watery eyes, pain in the eyes.
  • Fever, chills.
  • Quincke's edema. It is characterized by a rapid onset of the symptom.

Each person's response is different. In one, it is poorly expressed, in another, anaphylactic shock occurs, which can be fatal. To prevent this, it is necessary to take an antihistamine in a timely manner. Preventive measures should also be taken. You can find out what actions should be taken by watching the video with the participation of Dr. Komarovsky.

In case of severe manifestations of allergies, urgent medical attention is needed, since independent unprofessional actions can lead to sad consequences.

Hives

What it looks like. Pale, streaky, intensely itchy bumps. Pink blisters may appear, which become covered with a red bloody crust when scratching. The kid does not sleep well and eats. Over time, intradermal edema subsides, and the swelling disappears without a trace. Hives are caused by infections, allergies, and physical irritants.

What to do. In agreement with the doctor, antihistamines are used. It is helpful to give a cleansing enema. Redness is treated with a powder.

How is an allergy to mosquito bites in a child manifested?

With a normal human reaction, in the event of a bite, a small papule appears (usually no more than two centimeters). The papule can cause mild discomfort due to itching (a local inflammatory reaction begins).

If such a swelling transforms into a large red spot, which causes severe itching and rises above the general cover of the skin, we can talk about an allergic reaction of a local nature (the level of severity of such a reaction is quite mild).

When the body is completely included in the pathological process, one can also speak of an easy stage of kulicidosis. In this case, the following phenomena are possible:

  • redness is observed throughout the body;
  • you can see rashes of a numerous nature;
  • the itching becomes unbearable, the child can be capricious, because of discomfort, refuse to eat.

In this case, it is enough to apply to the skin, for example, an emulsion of Fenistil or an alcohol-containing agent (often advise a tincture of Calendula)

Pathology of moderate severity develops if there is a malfunction of the internal organs. With such an allergic reaction, the following phenomena are observed:

  • respiratory disorders, shortness of breath;
  • painful sensations in the abdomen;
  • dizziness, nausea, and weakness.

Mosquito bites in children photo on the face

If nausea provokes vomiting, and shortness of breath - choking, we can talk about a severe stage of kulicidosis. With such a pathology, it is necessary to seek qualified medical help as soon as possible.

Another dangerous symptom of an allergic reaction is the rapid swelling of the face, especially the lips and eyes. The danger of this pathology lies in the fact that with it a person can die in just a few minutes. Quincke's edema can affect, for example, only the eyes or face, or it can block the airways. Anaphylactic shock is characterized by a sharp loss of consciousness and suffocation, while cardiac activity is almost completely suspended.

It is worth noting that a mosquito bite can rarely cause a reaction of similar severity in a baby, but parents should still be aware of this danger.

The substances that cause allergies in mosquito bites are called insect allergens, which are concentrated in the saliva, venom and body of the mosquito.

Allergic reactions to mosquito bites make up, according to allergists-immunologists, up to 15% of cases of insect allergy manifestations. Sometimes they take a severe form: urticaria, Quincke's edema, spasms of smooth muscles of the bronchi (asthma attacks), allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis.

The reasons for this reaction

The occurrence of this phenomenon is possible for the following reasons:

  • Hereditary predisposition.
  • Increased concentration of immunoglobulin E in the body.

Such immunoglobulin can be produced in excess in case of inadequate monotonous nutrition, impaired metabolism, as well as in a highly polluted environment.

However, in most cases, this disease occurs due to a hereditary predisposition, therefore, if the child's parents suffer from allergic reactions to insect bites, it is highly likely that the baby will also have kulicidosis.

In the case of mosquitoes, an anticoagulant acts as a substance that causes such unpleasant phenomena (this is a rather poisonous liquid that is injected by insects into the human skin).

Treatment and general recommendations

Immediately after the bite, ice or a cold bag should be applied to the sore spot. Anti-inflammatory gels (Fenistil, Pantestin) will help relieve irritation and itching.

How to handle mosquito bites in a child

Medicines and traditional medicine will help to stop an acute allergic reaction. These methods will be discussed further.

Usually, an allergic reaction goes away on its own, but in rare cases, severe edema, fever, and difficulty breathing appear. What to do? See your doctor immediately, he will prescribe the following therapy:

  • cold is immediately applied to the bitten place (a pillow with ice cubes inside);
  • antihistamines are prescribed. These drugs block the body's production of histamine (the culprit of all unpleasant sensations). Do not use these medicines on your own, only as directed by your doctor. After all, the child's body does not perceive some medications that are great for adults;
  • also cooling ointments will help relieve skin condition;
  • in case of infection in a combed wound, antibiotics are prescribed;
  • drink too much, this will help remove all toxins from the body.

In the case when a small spot appears on the skin after a mosquito bite, which disappears on its own, and most importantly, there is no fever, vomiting and other alarming symptoms, then treatment is not expected.

In other cases, a person will be prescribed a course of therapy that will help to endure the most difficult consequences after an insect attack.

Important: only doctors should prescribe treatment, independent selection of therapy can be harmful and lead to an irreversible outcome.

Various medications help to reduce skin redness, relieve itching and help to endure the attack of these bloodsuckers.

Mostly for people who have been bitten by mosquitoes, doctors recommend:

  1. Antihistamine tablets that make it possible to forget about the constant itching.
  2. Ointments that reduce inflammatory reactions on the skin.
  3. Antipyretic drugs, such as suppositories, tablets or syrups.

Note: antipyretic medications are prescribed exclusively in situations where people have a temperature of 38 degrees or more.

In cases where doctors suspect infection with an infectious disease in a person as a result of a mosquito bite, the treatment is selected strictly individually.

Often, the patient is immediately hospitalized, where he undergoes an extended examination and takes tests, and then antibiotics, injections, droppers, and so on are prescribed.

An important point: in difficult and life-threatening situations for the patient, a blood transfusion will be prescribed.

Folk remedies

There are many popular ways to help a person overcome all the negative consequences associated with mosquito bites.

Soda lotions. Required:

  • stir half a teaspoon of baking soda in 55 milliliters of warm water;
  • take a cotton pad and moisten it in the prepared solution;
  • apply the disc to the swelling on the skin;
  • remove the disc after one minute.

Important: soda lotions should be done 5 - 6 times a day.

Onion compresses. Required:

  • take the onion and peel it;
  • chop finely;
  • put the prepared onion mass in a single layer on redness;
  • remove the compress after 15 minutes.

Advice: if an onion compress provokes a strong burning sensation, then it is better to resort to another method of reducing redness on the epidermis.

Rubbing the bite with fish oil.

Note: you need to do such wiping every 2.5 - 3 hours throughout the day.

Celandine lotions. Need to:

  • Put 7 - 8 grams of dry celandine in a glass;
  • pour 65 milliliters of boiling water;
  • put a towel on top of the glass;
  • after 25 minutes, moisten a cotton swab in the infusion and put it on the bite site.

Important: celandine lotions must be done every 4 hours and kept on the skin for 15 minutes.

Advice: not a single folk method can be used if the person has not shown the affected skin to the doctor. Only a specialist can really say whether a patient needs any treatment, prescribe drugs, and most importantly, exclude or confirm infection.

In most cases, the child's immune system is able to cope with such a nuisance on its own. However, if after a day redness on the skin still remains, and the child complains of intolerable itching, do not postpone a visit to the allergist.

Treatment of the disease is complicated by the fact that children often unconsciously comb the bites, and infection can penetrate into the wounds.

In the modern pharmaceutical market, there are many antihistamines (antiallergic drugs), for example, Suprastin or a more modern remedy, Claritin, helps to relieve symptoms well (it is enough to drink one tablet).

For first aid, such medications are suitable, but in the future, you still need to consult a specialist.

Well relieves itching and tinctures of propolis or calendula, which should be wiped the affected area several times a day. Contrary to popular belief, the effect in this case is achieved due to the alcohol that is part of the tinctures.

To relieve itching and reduce swelling, you can use gels and ointments that include panthenol. They are completely safe and suitable even for the sensitive skin of a child.

Insect bites

Explain to the baby that you should not comb the bite site, otherwise you can quickly bring an infection into the wound, and then not only allergies will have to be treated.

Attention! If the reaction develops rapidly, there is swelling in the face and neck area, breathing is difficult, call an ambulance immediately. Quincke's edema and anaphylactic shock from the bite of blood-sucking insects are rare, but possible.

The child was bitten by mosquitoes: what to do and what medications to use

After being bitten by a mosquito, you must first assess the site of the bite on the child's body. If mosquito bites look like single dots on the body, it will be enough to use the cold: attach a bottle of water, having previously wrapped it in a scarf (to avoid burns). This helps relieve swelling. But in the event that a mosquito bite has caused severe swelling or other symptoms, or if the child has multiple bites, you cannot do without special means.

All antiallergic agents (ointment, cream, spray) that are intended for use after a mosquito bite are divided into the following types:

  • herbal remedies (for example, Fladex, Moskitol);
  • antihistamines (for example, Fenistil);
  • products containing hormones (cream or ointment based on hydrocortisone or prednisolone).

With small single bites, it is enough to apply ice to the affected area, or something cold
All of them are safe for children, but it still does not hurt to discuss their use with a doctor. In addition, you need to carefully read the instructions and select a mosquito bite remedy according to the child's age.

Each of the types of funds is used depending on the severity of the reaction. For example, if a strong reaction is observed after a bite, only a hormonal remedy for mosquitoes in children helps, the treatment of which is carried out in accordance with the attached instructions.

You can treat the place of redness with safe means. These are the Rescuer and Boro plus ointments. They contain thermal water and trace elements necessary for the healing of wounds in a short time.

To avoid suppuration of the wounds (since children can comb the mosquito bite hard), a lotion for children is used. It contains zinc oxide and calamine, which reduce inflammation and dry out wounds.

A line of plant-based mosquito bites for children

The active substances of the pharmacy help in eliminating itching. To avoid scratching the bite site, the child should be given an oral antihistamine, such as the most common Loratadine. It copes well with all the symptoms of allergies and helps to eliminate unpleasant manifestations after a bite. It is only important to calculate the dosage according to the child's age. And do not forget that all anti-allergic pills or syrups make children sleepy.

For crumbs, a safe product Gardex Baby is suitable. It consists of herbal ingredients. Gel, foam, cream, pencil, bracelet can be used. But always remember: for children, any product is selected with great care.

If the baby has been bitten by a mosquito, there is no need to try various remedies. Consult your doctor and he will help you in choosing.

Bite prevention measures

Now you know how to get rid of unpleasant allergy symptoms after being bitten by a mosquito or midge. But the most reliable treatment is prevention. What precautions should all parents know?

Effective methods of prevention from annoying insects:

  • first of all, protect the room from small parasites: fix the gauze on the windows or put on nets (for plastic windows), do the same trick with ventilation. For cots, strollers there are now a great variety of different mosquito nets. If such a thing was not included, then purchase it yourself;
  • use substances that repel insects, they are sprayed around the apartment, on the furniture. Insects smell and fly away. Also, special ointments and creams have been developed using these substances. For children, choose special, hypoallergenic emulsions. Observe precautions: avoid contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose. Remember! In most cases, these products do not lose their properties within 2–5 hours, then apply the layer again;
  • when resting in nature, in the evening, dress your child in a sweater with long sleeves, pants;
  • if you stay overnight in the forest, treat the tent, blankets, sleeping bag, even nearby objects with repellents (deterrent agents);
  • before going to bed, you can fumigate the room with a fumigator (a device into which a plate or insect repellent solution is inserted).Do not use indoors, may adversely affect the human body;
  • buy an electric fumigator for your apartment, it is harmless to people and pets;
  • an ultrasonic device is a modern tool in the fight against unwanted guests. Advantages of this product: does not contain chemicals, scares away or kills not only insects, but also cockroaches, mice, does not affect pets and people.

Remember! Do not buy personal protective equipment in spontaneous markets, read the composition carefully, study the manufacturer. A cheap, low-quality product can kill not only an insect, but also harm your baby.

Time-tested folk remedies will serve as environmentally friendly and harmless options for protecting against insects:

  • mosquitoes are small lovers of the smell of cloves, eucalyptus. Lubricate bare skin with these essential oils or purchase aroma sticks. This will cheer you up, eliminate little bloodsuckers;
  • also insects do not like the smell of tomatoes, put a tomato bush on the windowsill, uninvited guests will definitely not fly into you.

Remember the main rule and explain to the baby - do not scratch the bite site, it is easy to get an infection when scratching. If you notice the child's weakness, fever, swollen skin, then immediately contact the pediatrician. To avoid a repeated allergic reaction, go with your child to an allergist, be sure to follow preventive measures.

It is impossible to prevent kulicidosis itself, but an unwanted allergic reaction can be avoided. If you are traveling with your child in the forest, it is advisable to wear sufficiently closed clothing. In addition, be sure to use special sprays and creams that repel these insects (now there are mild products on sale that are ideal for sensitive baby skin).

Remember that mosquito bites can be confused with other insect bites if you don't know how they differ.

Are you at home? In summer, it will be useful to put mosquito nets on the windows, and use mosquito plates at night. In this case, you will protect children as much as possible from an allergic reaction.

To reduce the likelihood of an attack by mosquitoes and, as a result of their bites, preventive measures help, which include:

  • Using sprays, ointments and other insect repellents.

Tip: you need to use any sprays and other means according to the instructions.

  • Avoiding a long stay near water bodies, especially in the evening and calm weather.

Note: In the evening and when there is no wind, these bloodsuckers are most active.

  • Using improvised means to help ward off insects.

Advice: it is recommended, when there are a lot of mosquitoes, waving twigs, paper fans, towels and so on next to you.

Mosquito bite marks appear on a person's skin immediately and cause a lot of trouble associated with constant itching and reddening of the epidermis. However, in most cases it is harmless and goes away on its own the next day.

In exceptional cases, a person may become infected with an infectious disease or develop an allergic reaction, the main thing is to immediately call a doctor and undergo proper treatment.

Insect bites

Blitz - tips:

  • try not to comb the bites;
  • always use insect sprays, especially in the summer;
  • if after the attack of mosquitoes the temperature rises, a fever and other dangerous symptoms begin, then you need to urgently go to the doctor.

Diagnostics

In the case of an allergy to a mosquito bite, there is small dot, which can be identified with a thorough examination. If the rash is solid, then they are provoked by another insect. An accurate diagnosis must be made by an immunologist or allergist.

The manifestation of allergic reactions is directly related to the immune system, therefore it does not respond to treatment, and the problem can only progress with age.

In order not to protect the child from summer walks, swimming, being in the fresh air, unpleasant symptoms available to stop for a long time.

Traditional methods and recipes

Traditional medicine methods are no less effective in combating allergies to insect bites. The first step is to get rid of severe itching. Don't have time to go to the pharmacy? We bring to your attention a list of effective remedies:

  • for primary disinfection, treat the wound with laundry soap (tar can be used). This old method will precisely eliminate possible infections and prepare for further manipulations;
  • A very common way to combat itching and redness is with regular toothpaste. Take a simple paste, no helium particles and various fragrances. Do not rub in too much, just apply to the affected area, then gently rinse with warm, running water. Attention! Use the tooth powder that the child uses, in order to avoid the appearance of a new allergy, already to the ingredients of the paste itself;
  • a cold compress dipped in a decoction of chamomile, calendula will perfectly soothe the skin, relieve redness, this decoction can be taken orally (1 glass per day), to support the body's defenses;
  • our favorite banana. This fruit can be eaten, but do not throw away the peel. Make a compress out of it on the sore area. Place the inner side over the bite site, leave for 15 minutes. It is advisable that the banana peel is fresh, so a huge amount of nutrients will be preserved, which will contribute to a speedy recovery;
  • there is a tea bag in every kitchen. After drinking tea, do not throw it away, but make a lotion from the bag. Apply to the bitten area, hold for 20 minutes, use only black tea, other varieties will not work;
  • mix 1: 1 tablespoon of sour cream and kefir. Lubricate the swollen area with this mixture, after 20 minutes there will be no trace of itching and burning;
  • if you have aloe growing at home, then cut off a piece of leaf, grease the bite site with the juice of this medicinal plant, repeat the procedure throughout the day (preferably about 5 times);
  • for cosmetic purposes, mothers use tea oil, eucalyptus. You can also use these essential oils to treat baby bites. Lubricate the affected area of the skin with one oil or a mixture of them. After absorbing the product, the result will be noticeable;
  • also take baking soda, dissolve 1 teaspoon of this substance in 1 tbsp. spoon of water. Put the gruel on the wound for no more than 10 minutes. Do not overdo it to avoid soda burns;
  • Crush the plantain, basil, or dandelion into a gruel. Lubricate the bite site with this tool, hold for at least 30 minutes. During this time, the plant will transfer all its healing properties to the skin.

Prickly heat

What it looks like. Usually manifests itself with the onset of heat. Beige and pink pimples are located very close to each other. Most of the rashes are in the upper chest, shoulders and neck. Sometimes tiny blisters may appear. They do not bother the child.

What to do. Ventilate the skin regularly and monitor the room temperature - it should be + 20 ° C. Bathe your baby in broths of string and chamomile. To remove excess moisture, you need to use a powder. Do not lubricate reddened skin with cream. Clothes should only be made from natural materials.

Allergic rash

What it looks like. It becomes more active after eating new products - mussels, shrimps, exotic berries and fruits, cow's milk, eggs. It occurs in the form of highly itchy pink and red spots that tend to merge. The state of health may worsen, especially with severe allergies. The kid is lethargic or, on the contrary, overly excited. Sleep and appetite are disturbed, diarrhea and vomiting are possible.
What to do.Prescribe a sparing hypoallergenic diet, antihistamines and drugs that reduce the body's increased sensitivity to external stimuli, such as calcium chloride. As a supplement - drugs that bind and remove food allergens from the body - enterosorbents. If irritation is caused by contact with washing powder or cosmetics, remove the allergen.

Medicines

Treat insect bites in two ways: relieve general symptoms with antihistamines for oral administration and act directly on the affected area. Antiallergic drugs are given for several days until the condition of the little patient improves. Children under one year old are prescribed Fenistil, Zodak, Zirtek, Suprastin. Medicines for adults should not be given to avoid aggravating the condition.

The bite sites should also be lubricated regularly until complete recovery and removal of the swelling. For local exposure, the following means are used:

  • Fenistil gel - relieves itching, reduces flushing. The preparation contains anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory components.
  • Psilo balm is an antihistamine for external use with anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties.
  • Spray balm Moskitol - for a quick effect.
  • Balm Lifeguard - relieves pain, reduces swelling and itching.
  • Sudocrem is a zinc-based preparation. Relieves irritation, relieves blisters in a short time.

For serious inflammatory processes accompanied by significant edema, glucocorticoid-based drugs are indicated. Such drugs quickly penetrate through the superficial stratum corneum into the epidermis and suppress inflammatory processes. They can be used no more than 1 time per day, if the doctor has not prescribed an individual dosage:

  • Advantan cream 1%. The drug can be smeared from 6 months.
  • Hydrokorizon ointment - used from 2 years old.

Scabies

What it looks like. Small pimples, covered with crusts, are localized on the abdomen, between the fingers, on the wrists and the back of the hands, in the armpits and on the feet. Often, small dots are arranged in pairs or triplets and then form "myceliums", which subsequently look red and swollen. Constant itching worsens towards evening and night.

What to do. The doctor must prescribe sulfuric ointment, a special aerosol for treating bed linen and outerwear. After treatment, itching may persist for several weeks.

First aid

Knowing what to do after a mosquito bite can help prevent swelling. To avoid such undesirable consequences, you need to carry out several procedures:
