Mosquito repellent Raptor: properties and principle of action

The mosquito repellent is a modern remedy that has proven itself on the market as an effective fighter against annoying insects. If on hot summer nights they annoyingly interfere, then a mosquito repellent is perfect for you. This tool was invented and first used by the Russian ensign Komarov. The fumigator comes in several forms: mosquito repellent, plates, and a coil. Next, we will talk about its features and operation.

Mosquito repellent

Liquid

It is a fumigator with a removable transparent cartridge, which contains a liquid with an active substance. The action lasts up to 60 nights. Liquid Raptor from mosquitoes is odorless, does not irritate the respiratory tract of a person, does not affect the well-being of a person, pets when used correctly.

Operating principle

Fumigator Raptor for insect protection

The active ingredient is an insecticidal substance developed by Japanese scientists - this is. It begins to act when heated - it is released into the air in small portions. How the Raptor works on mosquitoes can be seen with the naked eye. Insects rise up to the ceiling, fly randomly, do not sit on a person, and after a while they fall immobilized. The subsidence of the mosquito squeak indicates the rapid effectiveness of the fumigator.

On a note!

The principle of operation is extremely simple. Etok disrupts the work of the nervous system, causes paralysis, early death. The substance affects not only mosquitoes, but also other flying blood-sucking insects. The Raptor tool frees the room from midges, flies, helps to cope with fleas, bed bugs.

Using

The operating instructions are straightforward. In the evening, you should connect the mosquito fumigator to the outlet, leave it overnight. Already after 5 minutes of operation of the device, the mosquito squeak subsides, within half an hour the pests die, others do not fly into the room even with open windows and doors. One bottle lasts approximately 60 nights.

  • The instructions for use contain some prohibitions on the use of the fumigator - small children under 3 years old, a room with an area of less than 5 square meters. In other cases, the Raptor fumigator is used without restrictions.
  • In a closed room, turn on the device half an hour before bedtime, after which you can turn it off. With the windows open, the fumigator runs all night.
  • In rare cases, an individual intolerance appears on this substance. The person feels weakness, headache, dizziness. In this case, the use of the product is prohibited.

Features of the device

The Raptor is a great way to get rid of mosquitoes in your apartment or house. High efficiency and simple application principle are the main advantages of the device.

A mosquito fumigator is a heating element located in a plastic container, which has special wicks and plates impregnated with an insecticidal substance. It is enough to plug the Raptor into a mosquito outlet and, under the influence of temperature, chemical components begin to evaporate, negatively affecting insects.

Plate

Mosquito repellent plate

Protection from mosquitoes in the form of plates, on the packaging of which a formidable dinosaur is depicted, is familiar to everyone. It was the first Raptor product for killing bloodsuckers in a residential area. The green plates are individually sealed and sold together with a small device - a fumigator.

Operating principle

Mosquito repellent plates act in a similar way to liquid. When heated, an active substance is released into the air - an insecticide with a nerve effect. The active composition is identical - this. The plates are impregnated, the insecticide is activated when the temperature rises.

Using

The fumigator is very easy to use. It is necessary to remove the plate from the package, place it in a special section of the device, connect it to an outlet. In a closed room, connect the device half an hour before bedtime; with the windows open, leave the device turned on all night. You can notice the harmful effect of the active substance on mosquitoes after 5 minutes.

On a note!

Do not use the same plate several nights in a row. Outwardly, it practically does not change, but after 10 hours of operation, the active substance completely disappears, further use of the product is meaningless.

Surface Preparation for Raptor Coating

  • Surface preparation is a very important step in Raptor painting. All properties of this coating will be fully manifested only with careful preparation.
  • First you need to clean the surface, remove all peeling coating and rust using special attachments for a drill or grinder.
  • Raptor can be applied directly to sand-prepared paint.

Before applying Raptor, old paint should be sanded, there should be no glossy spots. Bare metal must be primed.

  • Sand the surface with P120 - P220 sanding paper, in some cases P80. It is a coarser abrasive than is used to prepare the car for painting, but Raptor has a thicker consistency than regular paint and adheres well to surfaces sanded with coarser sanding paper and fills in scratches from it. Use red scotch tape for hard-to-reach areas. There should be no glossy areas. The entire surface must be matt.
  • For hard-to-reach places where it is impossible to polish the surface with high quality, U ‑ Pol offers to spray adhesion promoter GRIP # 4 (UNIVERSAL ADHESION PROMOTER). It can also be used on "bare" plastic to improve adhesion (adhesion), aluminum, fiberglass. Can be sprayed directly onto glossy paintwork, which can then be overpainted without sanding.
  • Clean the surface from grinding particles and degrease.
  • Raptor must not be applied to bare metal. Bare metal areas must be primed. U ‑ Pol suggests using ACID # 8 etch primer or epoxy primer for this.
  • When using epoxy primer, it must be dry and prepared by sanding.
  • It is not recommended to use a one-component acrylic primer from a spray can.
  • The Raptor can only fill in small surface imperfections. More serious damage must first be repaired, putty and primed.
  • It is necessary to glue all the places that cannot be painted with masking tape and covering material. You can read more about the process of masking a car before painting in the article “Pasting a car before painting”. It is better to remove the masking tape after 15–20 minutes after Raptor's application, so that the border is smooth.

Danger to humans, animals

Mosquito repellent products

This substance is classified as low-hazard. When used correctly, it does not cause deterioration in well-being, discomfort. In the composition of the liquid, the plates are the minimum amount. Harm for humans, animals is excluded, for mosquitoes - a lethal dose.

On a note!

To exclude an increased concentration of insecticide in the air, it is not recommended to use the Raptor in too small rooms - less than 5 square meters. In large rooms, to increase the effectiveness of the drug, several fumigators should be included in different sides of the room. Otherwise, a person is faced with a situation where the Raptor does not help.

Do not use the product in a room where children under 3 years old sleep. The prohibition is connected with the weak immune system of the baby, the development of individual intolerance is possible. Bio Raptor is produced separately in the form of liquid, Nekusayka plates. The composition includes a natural substance - chamomile extract called feverfew. Has a light specific smell, absolutely safe for small children. It is used in the same way, the action of the liquid is enough for 40 days.

What is a fumigator

It is a small device, which is a cylindrical container with a group of holes on the upper side. The holes themselves have different diameters and are designed to release steam.

The active ingredient is cyphenothrin. Upon contact with midges, it has a nerve-paralytic effect, contributing to their complete and rapid destruction. In relation to humans, it has low toxicity.

After spraying, it remains effective for a month.

Where do the midges come from in the apartment?

Midges can appear anywhere in which conditions favorable for them are observed:

  • temperature above 16 degrees;
  • high humidity;
  • a large amount of food.

In summer, they can live in the wild, but in the cold season they hide in human habitats - in wine cellars, in fruit warehouses and vegetable stores, in residential buildings. It is very easy to get gnats in the kitchen - they lay eggs on products in the store, and a person brings them home. Once in suitable conditions, insects begin to reproduce at a tremendous rate - each female lays more than 50 eggs at a time.

Factors contributing to the spread of midges in the kitchen:

  • Violation of the rules for storing vegetables and fruits. If you do not put food in the refrigerator, insect eggs hatch quickly and gnats begin to multiply. The cold quickly kills them;
  • Storage of spoiled fruits. Rotten fruits and vegetables begin to smell attractive to gnats. To prevent this, products that have begun to deteriorate should be thrown away immediately;
  • Long-term storage of food waste. Rubbish should be taken out daily;
  • High air humidity;
  • Keeping pet food open. You should not leave a cat or dog's half-eaten lunch - this is bad for raising the animal and for the safety of the house from midges.

If the midges are still wound up, you need to get rid of them as soon as possible. They are not only unpleasant neighbors, but also carry a number of infectious pathogens.

The habitat of small insects is damp premises and spoiled food. Midges can enter the apartment in various ways.

  1. Vegetables or fruits purchased from the market or store can be contaminated with insect eggs. In the warmth, larvae appear from them, begin to grow and multiply.
  2. A midge that has flown through a window by accident is able to find a suitable place for laying eggs in rotting fruit, vegetables, used tea bags, clogged sewers and even cereals.
  3. Lack of hygiene in the bin can also cause small gnats to appear in your home.
  4. The ideal habitat for midges is also the cages of pets. They can multiply in food leftovers or in aquarium water that has not been changed for a long time.
  5. Indoor plants can be one of the reasons for the spread of insects. Their excessively abundant watering creates a favorable habitat for mushroom gnats - black flies, whose larvae feed on plant roots, thereby causing great harm to indoor flowers ..
  6. Midges can also appear in the kitchen from the air vent.

It is worth leaving a plate of fruit on the table for a while or not cleaning up the garbage in time, and almost immediately you can see annoying creatures circling in a swarm. Where do they come from, and at any time of the year?

Midges appear in the apartment as follows:

  1. Midges prudently lay eggs on growing, pouring vegetables and fruits. Therefore, when buying your favorite product, you automatically bring midges to your home. In order for them to hatch and go through all the stages of their development, favorable conditions are necessary for them. And the room temperature and the environment of decay correspond to this. For example, if the fruit spoils a little, the fly development mechanism will start immediately.
  2. They can enter the house by accident and find a suitable place to lay their eggs. It can be anything: fruits, berries, spilled kefir, clogged sewers, garbage not thrown away in time, etc.
  3. Not a bad breeding ground: leftovers from dried pet food, fillers, sawdust, sand, etc. not thrown away in time.
  4. Flooded or infested houseplants favor the reproduction of gnats. With excessive watering, black flies appear, the larvae of which harm the plants.
  5. Old clogged ventilation ducts - through them, midges can easily penetrate from neighbors.
