A bonfire is an important component of a cozy landscape design in a summer cottage. A campfire site in the country is chosen based on safety parameters, ergonomics relative to other objects and aesthetic appeal. If you achieve a harmonious balance of these three parameters, a corner with a hearth will become a favorite place for rest for all family members.
From time immemorial, fire has been attributed to mystical properties. It was believed that the flame is able to cleanse, protect from evil. He was deified, worshiped, offered sacrifices and ritual ceremonies. Today psychologists recognize contemplation of the flame as one of the effective therapies for relaxation, distraction from worries and achieving peace. Indeed, one can watch the fire for an infinitely long time. It is especially pleasant to do this in your own garden, sitting in a cozy hammock, inhaling the aroma of roasting meat.

How to make a stone outdoor hearth.
In order to make an outdoor hearth with a natural stone finish, first we mark the hearth kennels and fill in a small concrete cushion under the masonry.
The masonry will be in two layers. The inner layer is a brick layer and the outer layer is made of natural stone.
The upper part of the hearth can also be finished with stone.
In order to use the fireplace as a brazier, provide a grate for it in accordance with the size of the hearth.
Such a beautiful campfire site can be placed on the terrace in front of the house, where you can spend truly unforgettable evenings in the country.
Fireplace made of concrete blocks.
In fact, the simplest outdoor hearth can be folded from ordinary concrete blocks.
In order to maximally protect the soil from fire and for more convenient cleaning of the hearth, it is better to put concrete blocks on a brick site.
If the top of such a hearth is decorated with natural stone, it will look quite respectable.
By placing a campfire site next to the summer kitchen and gazebo, you get another wonderful seating area in the garden.
Choosing and preparing a place
First of all, the site for the fireplace must comply with fire regulations. The future hearth is installed at a distance of at least 4 meters from trees and shrubs. They retreat from residential buildings and utility structures by 3-3.5 meters.
Do not locate the flame zone directly near the fences separating the land parcels, as the smoke from the fire will cause inconvenience to the neighbors. Do not install the future hearth on heights, from the windward side. Moreover, do not equip a place for an open fire near the warehouse of combustible substances, gas cylinders and household chemicals.
Hearth of semicircular beard and paving slabs.
Concrete blocks are not only produced in the form of rectangles - semicircular concrete curbs are usually used to fence trees.
These concrete blocks are perfect for creating a small outdoor hearth.
If you can't find semicircular blocks, look for paving slabs. It turns out, using it as bricks, you can also make a fireplace for a summer residence.
With your own hands
Making a hearth with your own hands is most often done using the cold forging method. The implementation of projects using this method does not require special knowledge from the performer; the necessary skills can be obtained independently. To create a fire pit using the hot forging method, the master must have broad theoretical and practical skills, for the acquisition of which most performers receive education in blacksmithing institutions.

Also, the master will need blacksmithing equipment and a blacksmith's tool, a sketch of the product and consumables. It is possible not only to make the decor for the product with your own hands, but also to buy it. A wide range of companies are engaged in the sale of forged items. Thus, the performer acquires the elements he likes and collects them into a single composition. This option requires the performer to have only the skills of a welder.
Brick street hearth.
For those who are not a supporter of excessive creativity, it is easiest to use bricks to create a hearth.
We lay out the required size of the fireplace from the brick, mark the contours and dig a hole to the height of the brick. We surround the contours of the hearth, adding gravel to the bottom. Advice: if the walls of the pit are made slightly inclined outward, then the structure will turn out to be more stable.
By minimally decorating the upper part of the hearth, you will get a cozy and beautiful fireplace in the country. You can put a metal tripod in the hearth and cook kulesh. For meat lovers, you can install a simple skewer and cook whole poultry on a skewer.
Fire bowl
Bowl sides.
The fire bowl can be recessed and raised. In the first case, the place for making a fire is deepened into the ground, bringing the edges to the same level with the paving of the site. In the second version, the bowl is raised above the ground surface to a height of 15 to 50-60 cm. High bowls are often designed as a kind of table, the sides of which can be used for arranging! or plates of food.
The rimmed bowl is easier to use than the recessed version. Thanks to the high sides, you will not need to bend over to throw firewood into the fire; it is easier to put a grill on the sides.
How to make a campfire site in the country.
To fit the fireplace into the overall design of the garden, you can make a special area for it.
Such a campfire site will be more comfortable and cozy. the stone curb can be used as a bench, and the smooth shape of the platform will add an elegant touch to the landscape design of the entire garden.
Street hearth from scrap materials.
For those who like to use improvised materials, there are also beautiful options for a street hearth.
For example, you can make such a beautiful hearth out of an old basin and the remains of stone and metal.
In fact, any durable metal will work for the inside of the hearth.
This metal can be a tank from a washing machine.
For its functioning, it is enough to weld legs to it.
Or you can add minimal brickwork. There is not much work, but the difference is palpable.
Sometimes the campfire site is located in a recess on the site - this technique is used for a windy or noisy area, this creates a calmer and quieter atmosphere around the campfire.
Campfire site: barbecue from an old car drive
If you don't want to stack bricks, you can use a simple and proven way to make a fire pit yourself, which I mentioned earlier - use an old car rim (stamping, not casting!). It is ideal for this - round shape, tall walls, air inlets and ease of installation. You can either bury it in the ground, making a fire pit flush with the ground, or put it, and overlay it with bricks to make it look more attractive.
By the way, from the same disc you can make not only a hearth, but also a brazier - on steel legs, so that it is more convenient to follow the cooking kebabs, a grill (adding a grate of the required size on top), a barbecue and much more.
And if, instead of a car disk, you find some other metal bowl or other container in your garage or basement, you can easily use it to make a hearth in your summer cottage. By the way, an old steel bowl will do for this - who else has these kept from Soviet times?
Outdoor fireplace made of metal.
It is not necessary to use leftover household appliances for the fire bowl.
You can just buy a sheet of galvanized metal and weld a simple structure from it for the hearth.
The only drawback of this design is that its walls are seriously heated and it is necessary to isolate the hearth from flammable surfaces.
