sodium propionate - 2.1 mg;
bentonite - 3.5 mg;
xanthan gum - 3 mg;
citric acid - 6 mg;
distilled water - about 1 ml.

Release form

The manufacturer produces two types of the drug:

Baycox 2.5;
Baycox 5.0.

The medicine is available in the form of a suspension, it is prescribed for use through the esophagus (orally). Outwardly, the drug looks like a clear liquid, colorless and odorless. On sale there are also 10 ml packages of this drug (disposable).

Indications for use

The purpose of the drug is the treatment of coccidiosis, the causative agent of which are different types of coccidia and eimeria.

This disease is fatal, and it is impossible to hesitate with the treatment of animals. In the process of the disease, the intestines and gastrointestinal tract are affected, in which bacteria multiply, subsequently parasitizing in the liver and gall bladder of a sick rabbit.

Symptoms of coccidiosis:

lethargy, apathy, weakness, the animal's lack of desire to move;
loss of interest in feeding, weight loss;
the rabbit is stunted and practically does not develop;
the surface of the mucous membranes turns slightly yellow;
rabbit fur coat loses its luster, its surface becomes disheveled.

From the moment of infection of rabbits until the first symptoms appear, it takes about 2–3 days.

What diseases is Baycox used for?

The medicine is used for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis (eimiriosis) in all groups of poultry. The disease is widespread in young chickens, with a low level of hygiene. The bird becomes infected with coccidia through dirty litter, the carriers are specimens that have recovered and wild birds.

Chickens kept on mesh floors do not get coccidiosis.

Parasites multiply in the stomach and intestines, disrupting the functioning of the digestive organs. Coccidiosis not only weakens the chicks but can kill them. The main symptom of the disease is brown diarrhea mixed with blood in poultry. Autopsy of the dead specimens reveals an inflamed intestine with numerous small hemorrhages on the walls, the liver is covered with small white nodules.

Baykoks preparation effectively destroys parasites without having a detrimental effect on the health of young animals.For a greater effect, it is recommended to give the medicine to the livestock in combination with vitamin preparations (Chiktonik, Gamavit) and probiotics (Vetom).

Instructions for use

For the treatment of adult animals, both Baycox with a concentration of 2.5% and a drug with 5.0% of the active ingredient can be used.

Treatment of rabbits from coccidiosis is carried out within two days, drinking the drug to the long-eared. If the case is neglected and the disease is difficult - rabbit breeders take a break between treatment for 5 days, after which they repeat the course of treatment with Baycox for 2 days.

For adults

Adult rabbits are treated with both varieties of this drug:

"Baykoks 2.5" - the concentration of the drug is not too high, sick animals are given it to drink, mixed with drinking water. Dilute the medicine at the rate of 1 ml of Baycox 2.5 per 1000 ml of liquid.
"Baykoks 5.0" - this kind of drug is not diluted with anything, but fed to rabbits in the form in which the drug is in the bottle. In this case, the size of the dose is calculated based on the body weight of the rabbit (0.2 ml per 1 kg of live weight).

Important! If the disease with coccidiosis has come to a critical stage, the breeder often has difficulty in how to get a sick rabbit drunk. This can be done with a disposable syringe from which the needle has been removed (a small medical rubber bulb or pipette). The medicine is drawn into one of these devices and poured into the mouth of the sick animal (closer to the beginning of the esophagus). This method is only suitable for Baycox with a 2.5% concentration, since a drug with a higher concentration cannot be diluted in a liquid.

For rabbits

Small rabbits can be given Baycox solution up to 21 days after birth. Usually, by this age, babies gain a body weight of more than 500 g.

For young rabbits it is recommended to use Baycox 2.5:

The drug is diluted in clean drinking water. According to the instructions, each baby must be weighed, and then the required dosage must be calculated (for each kilogram of the rabbit's body weight, 7 mg of the drug is taken). It is not always possible to accurately calculate the weight, therefore veterinarians recommend diluting 1 ml of the drug in 10 liters of water.
The rabbits are watered with a diluted solution during daylight hours. The next day, a fresh solution is prepared, this requirement is due to the fact that its medicinal effect is slightly lost over the past 24 hours, because the active substance adheres to the walls of the water tank.
How long the treatment will take depends on how the animals are doing. The medicinal solution is given until the external symptoms of the disease disappear, and another additional day is required to consolidate the result. The usual course of treatment lasts 2 to 3 days.
If it is required to treat very small rabbits that feed on mother's milk, the drug is diluted and fed to the baby from a large disposable syringe, with a nipple put on from a pipette instead of a needle.

Prevention use

In order to prevent coccidiosis on a rabbit farm, a 2-time prophylactic intake of this drug is carried out a year, with a half-year break between procedures.

To carry out prophylaxis, about 1 ml of the medicine is dissolved in 1 liter of drinking water and the resulting solution is poured into the drinker of each rabbit cage. The medicinal solution is poured into the drinking bowls in the morning for two days.

It is not recommended to use the drug for rabbits awaiting offspring or during the period of feeding young animals (lactation).

Use for chickens

This drug can be used both together with other complex treatment tools, and as an independent tool. It is best to give the drug to chickens that are fourteen days old.

The chicks are fed with a solution, which consists of one liter of water and one milliliter of the product. This liquid should be given within 24 hours.

Storage method

Manufacturers recommend storing the medicine in a tightly closed bottle, out of direct sunlight. The place of storage must be dry, the temperature in the storage must be in the range from 0 to +25 ° С.

In an unopened state, the drug is valid for 5 years from the date of release by the manufacturer, after the bottle has been unsealed - the drug remains effective for 3 months.

Properties, pharmacodynamics

Baykoks has a pronounced anti-coccidial effect. The active ingredient is effective against the simplest microorganisms, all types of coccidia, which parasitize in the body of chickens, geese, turkeys, broilers, and other poultry.

Important! Chicken coccidosis is a serious highly contagious infectious disease characterized by the rapid development of clinical symptoms and damage to the whole organism. If timely treatment is not started, the infection will cause the death of all poultry.

Toltrazuril, slowly absorbed into the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract of chickens and other poultry species, destroys bacteria at all stages of their development, including strains that are insensitive to the action of other anti-coccidial drugs.

The active substance of the drug blocks the respiratory components of clostridia, disrupts the formation of macrogametocytes, which leads to the instant death of the parasitic flora.

After oral administration, the drug has an immediate effect. Well tolerated by the body of chickens, chickens, turkeys. In rare cases, it provokes side symptoms.

The medicine Baykoks for birds does not lower the natural resistance of the body, does not reduce the immunity of chickens, chickens, geese to the causative agents of coccidosis. Can be used simultaneously with other drugs, vitamin and mineral premixes, food supplements, immunomodulators.

It is excreted from the body of the bird unchanged, in the form of metabolites, together with droppings.

Analogs

The drug has several analogues:

"Koktsiprodin" - This is a medicine with properties similar to Baycox, but it is several times more in demand among rabbit breeders due to its low cost. Its price is three times cheaper than that of Baycox, and the effect on coccidia is practically the same. The dosage and method of administration are the same as described above.
"Ditrim" - well suited for the treatment of coccidiosis in rabbits, the drug contains sulfadimezin and trimethoprim.When treating with Ditrim, rabbits should not be given drinking water, only a solution of water with medicine. To make a solution, take 1 ml of "Ditrim" for 1 liter of water, apply the treatment for 5 days. In an advanced stage, the drug is poured into the animal's mouth using a syringe without a needle several times a day. Ditrim is not recommended for pregnant rabbits.
"Tonucox" - has proven itself in the fight against coccidiosis. The medicine is diluted with water: 5 ml of the product per liter of water, after which sick rabbits are soldered with this solution for two days, then a 2-day break is taken. As soon as the pause in admission is over, the two-day treatment with the Tonucox solution is continued again.

Precautions

When working with Baycox, you should be careful:

Use special clothing, gloves and a mask.

Is it possible to eat meat after eating Baycox by a rabbit?

Rabbits can be slaughtered for meat no earlier than 77 days after the last day of prophylaxis or treatment with Baycox. In the instructions attached to the drug, this point is drawn to the special attention of users.

Rabbits are gentle animals, susceptible to various infections, and often sick. In order for fluffy pets to remain alive and healthy, it is enough for the breeder to drink them twice a year in order to prevent them with Baycox. This medicine will also help treat already sick animals.

Contraindications and possible harm

Subject to the instructions and recommendations for the use of Baykoks, there are no side effects of the drug, since it is well tolerated by domestic birds.

Experts classify the product as hazard class 4, which corresponds to a low level of harm potential. It is noted that even a significant violation of concentration will not harm the health of the chickens. The drug can be used without consulting a veterinarian as early as two weeks of age.

Slaughter of poultry is possible after 10-14 days after the end of treatment, the active substance is removed along with the droppings. If the bird has been killed earlier, people cannot eat it. The meat can be used to feed animals and to obtain meat and bone meal.
