"Aktara": instructions for use, composition, norms of use, reviews

Aktara is a modern insecticide (we read what kind of drugs they are) with unique properties. Detailed instructions for the Aktara insecticide indicate the wide possibilities of its use. At the same time, one should not forget about caution and those environmental aspects that inevitably arise when working with insecticides, including Aktara. The use of any chemical should be dictated by real necessity and requires strict adherence to the instructions.

insecticide aktara, how to apply 1-1

Aktara insecticide is produced by the famous Swiss agricultural company Syngenta. It is produced in two forms intended for solution preparation - powder and concentrated suspension (ampoule, bottle). A similar Swiss-made chemical is also contained in the liquid preparation Insector (trading house "Vashehozya") and solid sticks-briquettes Doctor ().

How pests get on indoor plants

It is often not entirely clear how pests can get to home plantings. However, different options are possible:

  • through an open window or window;
  • if indoor plants are taken out in the summer to fresh air;
  • transmitted from diseased plants that came to the house from friends or acquaintances;
  • on street shoes after returning from a walk;
  • on the hair of pets that were walked on the street;
  • the pest-infested plant may have been purchased from unknown vendors.

Operating principle

The active active ingredient of Actara is thiamethoxam at a concentration of 250 g / kg or 240 g / l. The drug is capable of destroying all insects that try to feed on this plant, as well as those that have taken refuge in the soil. Absorbed into the leaves or roots, the toxin spreads throughout the plant. When spraying, the effectiveness of the agent remains for the next 15-30 days, with watering - 40-60 days.

After 30-60 minutes, the active ingredient begins to act. When an insect eats poisoned leaves, the active components of Actra begin to interfere with its digestive system and suppress all receptors. The insect refuses to continue to eat the leaves, but the toxin has already entered its body and provoked paralysis of the nervous system. This leads to the inevitable death of the pest within about the next day.

The active substance does not accumulate in fruits and vegetables. If you strictly follow the rules given in the instructions, then insects will not develop immunity against the drug.

Forms of release and application of "Aktara"

This insecticide is produced in Switzerland. We have developed a drug to meet the wishes of gardeners and vegetable growers. But you can use it not only in the garden, but also for indoor plantings. This insecticide is an effective remedy that is used in vegetable beds, in a flower garden, as well as in rooms where indoor flowers grow.

Aktara powder

The instructions for use say that this chemical is effective for a number of pests that attack plants. The list of insects affected by "Aktara" is indicated in the instructions. However, not all such bugs are indicated in it, for example, the spider mite is not mentioned there, although the insecticide is very effective in the fight against this small arachnid insect.

The drug "Aktara" is available in very convenient forms:

  1. like a con;
  2. a granular substance that dissolves quickly in water.

Aktara granules are packaged in sachets, each weighing 4 g. This packaging is convenient for use in small garden plots, as well as in premises where home plantings grow. But for large farms, where large areas will have to be treated against pests at the same time, the production of granulated "Aktara" is organized in packages of ¼ kilograms.

The suspension is produced in the following forms: in the form of ampoules and vials.

Ampoules are most convenient when you have to process:

  • small beds where strawberries grow;
  • flower beds on which violets are planted;
  • home planting;
  • rose bushes;
  • orchids.

All of the above plants (and a number of others), this insecticide protects against:

  1. scale insects;
  2. spider mites.

Testimonials

Pavel, 43 years old: The acquisition of Aktar was actually a salvation for our garden. The most noticeable is the effective and rapid elimination of pests. Minus - the composition of the substance does not allow its use during flowering, due to its high toxicity for pollinating insects.

Ekaterina, 36 years old: I have been breeding indoor flowers for a long time. There was nothing worse for my flowers than this attack. I tried many means, Aktara turned out to be the most effective. Its high efficiency, ease of dilution and application are strongly distinguished. Now I will always use it.

Elena, 48 years old: The method of dilution, efficiency, ease of use made the drug really good. Low price, absence of unpleasant smell complete the picture. But due to its immense popularity, I ran into scammers. It took a very long time to look for a quality drug, and not a fake. Otherwise, the use of the chemical gave only positive sides.

As a result, we can draw the following conclusions. Firstly, two components at once became the active substance, which is why the chemical became widespread. Ease of use, breeding made it possible to use it even at the local economic level for home flowers, flower beds.

Secondly, widespread recognition has caused a wave of counterfeits, which is why you have to carefully choose the original. Reviews of the chemical complete the picture, convincing any person of its high quality. Aktara 25 wg has deservedly become one of the leaders in the chemical market.

Composition of the preparation, similar agents

The active ingredient in this insecticide is thiamethoxam. It is ¼ the mass of this chemical. "Aktara" gets into the vegetative mass either through the skin of the leaves, or is absorbed by the root system from the soil when irrigated with an insecticide solution. Then it spreads along the stem throughout the plant.

What pests does Aktara fight with?

This insecticide successfully and effectively fights the following "harmful" bugs:

  • Colorado and May beetles;
  • spider mite;
  • whitefly;
  • shield;
  • beetle larvae;
  • aphids;
  • thrips and a number of insects.

Drops of solution with Aktara fall on bugs, caterpillars and their larvae, through their skin - inside, where they begin to act. Eating foliage and nutrients from plant cells into which this drug has penetrated, this poisonous substance also enters the insect organism. The insecticide is detrimental to their nervous system, therefore, after ½ hour, these pests are no longer able to move or eat, and after some time they simply die. When it enters the soil, this poisonous substance begins to affect harmful insects that live in the soil.

This granular insecticide in a small package costs 76 - 100 rubles, and a pack of ¼ kg - from 3500 to 5000 rubles. The place where this poisonous drug will be located should be inaccessible to babies or pets. These can be mezzanines, shelves at the top of the room, closets, well closed.

Do not store this product near food, medicine, or pet food. The air temperature in this room can be from -10⸰C to + 35⸰C with low humidity.

Precautions

Aktar, according to the international classification, belongs to the 3rd hazard class. Protective measures:

  • The preparation and application of the working solution is done in protective clothing: a jacket or windbreaker made of durable and lightweight fabric with a long sleeve and a hood, gloves (silicone, rubber), goggles, a “petal” respirator, boots.
  • Do not smoke, eat or drink while working.
  • After processing the area, remove the overalls for subsequent washing with soap, wash your hands (or better take a shower), rinse your mouth and throat thoroughly.
  • Do not work with Aktara if the wind blows the poisonous cloud towards the nearest body of water with aquatic inhabitants.
  • When processing exotic indoor plants, provide reliable exhaust ventilation or process them outdoors.
  • Keep Aktar out of the reach of children and animals (especially cats sinning with curiosity) on the mezzanine, in lockers or safes.
  • Do not process flowering plants, bearing in mind the danger of Aktara for beneficial insects (bees, bumblebees).

If the product gets on open areas of the body, it is removed with a cotton-gauze swab or any soft cloth that absorbs water well. If the product gets into your eyes, rinse them with clean water for 10-15 minutes.

If you inhale the vapors, if you accidentally get into an aerosol cloud, you may develop symptoms of poisoning: vomiting, nausea, weakness, pallor of the skin, cold sweat. Then you urgently need to take activated charcoal tablets at the rate of 1.5 pcs / 10 kg of your weight, wash them down with warm water. Before that, rinse the stomach with the use of a pale pink solution of potassium permanganate in warm water. Call an ambulance, be sure to show the medical staff the label of the drug.

How to process indoor plants with "Aktaroy"

This pesticide should be used when pests have just appeared on indoor plants. All flower pots should be placed on a table covered with oilcloth. Since the treatment will be carried out indoors, you do not have to worry that rain or strong winds can interfere with the fight against bugs.

Spraying must be done carefully so that the drug does not get on other pieces of furniture, walls or floors.

After processing, the oilcloth must be thoroughly washed and removed - suddenly it will still come in handy for subsequent processing.

The prepared Aktara solution is not subject to storage, therefore, such an amount should be prepared that will be used immediately. At home, an ordinary indoor sprayer is sufficient. However, it should be remembered that the solution is poisonous, the subsequent use of a sprayer for watering flowers (or for other purposes) is unacceptable.

A solution of this insecticide is prepared as follows:

  • 1 small sachet of the drug should be diluted in a liter jar with water at a temperature of + 25⸰C (it is better to carry out this procedure in the fresh air - on a balcony or loggia);
  • fill the sprayer flask with water by ¼;
  • add to it the required amount of concentrated Aktara solution for sprayed indoor flowers;
  • then fill the sprayer reservoir with water to the required amount - 5 liters;
  • close the reservoir tightly;
  • then shake the sprayer to mix the insecticide solution.

Properties

Aktara, as already mentioned, is a new generation drug, so it has some distinctive features.

  1. The drug is effective against 100 species of insects. There is a theory that Aktara is effective even against spider mites, a formidable pest of indoor plants.
  2. The product is absorbed into the leaves and roots as soon as possible, providing protection.
  3. Already half an hour or an hour after treatment with the agent, parts of the plant become destructive to insects.
  4. The activity of the drug does not decrease under the most varied weather conditions.
  5. Direct sunlight does not in any way neutralize the toxicity of the drug.
  6. The agent, getting on the leaves and roots of plants, continues to act over a long period of time - 1-2 months.
  7. When working with this drug, large doses of the substance and too frequent treatments are not required.
  8. Despite the high toxicity, toxic substances do not accumulate in plants.
  9. The drug has maximum efficiency when spraying foliage and watering the soil.
  10. In addition to all of the above, this drug improves the quality of foliage and fruits, as well as prevents repeated attacks of insects.
  11. Aktara is great for fruit trees and shrubs, flowers (garden and indoor), vegetables and grain crops.
  12. Aktara is not dangerous for birds and earthworms, for people and animals it is moderately toxic. The only drawback of this remedy is that bees flying in for pollination can die from it. Therefore, it is better to refuse processing during the flowering period.

The use of the drug for home plantings

To protect domestic green pets, it is enough to dilute 1 small packet of "Aktara" in a five-liter container. This amount of solution is enough for an entire home garden.

For the treatment of garden and garden plants, the consumption rate of the drug per bucket of water may differ. These standards are described in the instructions for use of the drug. Moreover, all fruit shrubs and trees are treated for the first time against pests before flowering and mass emergence of pests. The next treatment should be done after harvest.

The liquid form of the drug is usually used to treat garden and horticultural plants. The dilution rate of the drug is described in the instructions.

Unfortunately, harmful insects can become addicted to this insecticide. Therefore, if it becomes necessary to carry out repeated treatments, it is better to change insecticides so that they effectively help fight pests.
