- It is better to take fresh roses or only those that have stood in the vase for no more than 1-2 days (in this case, before rooting, cut the cuts by a few centimeters and place the cuttings in cold water for 3-5 hours);
- the stems should be strong, fresh, not too thick, but not thin, nor should the stems be too soft or already stiff;
- choose varieties of roses with red or pink buds, they have a better chance of rooting than varieties of yellow and orange colors;
- be sure to leave at least three buds on the handle;
- it is best to take the middle part of the stem for grafting.
Preparing cuttings:
- Remove flowers and unblown buds from the roses of your choice
- Use a sharp knife or pruner to cut the cuttings 15-20cm long
- The bottom cut should be at a 45 degree angle and the top cut straight. Make the lower cut under the kidney, and the upper one at a distance of 1 cm from the kidney.
- Each cutting should have at least three buds
- The lower leaves must be removed, and the upper ones must be partially cut off.
- Both sections can be cauterized with potassium permanganate, or only the upper section can be sealed with paraffin or treated with activated carbon.
- On the lower cut, it is necessary to make cuts in the form of a cross, no more than 8mm deep
- Place the finished cuttings in water with the addition of potassium permanganate or root growth enhancer.
Use of growth stimulants
In order to speed up the process of root growth, as well as to increase the plant's immunity to various diseases, you can use growth stimulants. They can be purchased at any garden store, the choice is wide enough.
What can you soak cuttings
You can use drugs from this list: root, heteroauxin, epin, zircon, cornerost (read instructions on the package). You can prepare such a solution yourself from natural ingredients, but the appearance of the roots will have to wait longer:
- aloe juice in a ratio of 1: 9 (aloe juice / water)
- one teaspoon of honey in a glass of water
- 100g yeast per liter of water
In such a solution, it is necessary to keep the cuttings for 12 hours. The leftover yeast water is not worth pouring out, it is an excellent fertilizer for indoor plants.

Treat the seedling with a root-forming solution and place about half of it in the potatoes. Plant a potato with a shank in a pot with soil, cover with a jar or bottle on top. The soil should cover the potatoes by about 5-7 centimeters. You can also plant the cutting directly in open ground, just choose the right site. If you immediately plant in open ground, then the depth of the planting hole should be up to 30 cm, put sand on the bottom so that the potatoes do not rot. Watering should be moderate. Germination in the newspaper

Stages of germination with the help of a newspaper: You need to take a newspaper and wrap the cuttings in it. Moisten the newspaper with plenty of water, but so that it does not break, and place in a bag.
